What’s the idea behind the interculti logo?

Some might wonder why we designed our logo the way it looks. Here are some thoughts and ideas about the logo and its meaning.
Two letters “i” – two individuals coming together. Either in a personal relationship or working together in an international business context.
The two “i” are very different – black and white. In reality, life has many shades of gray. There is much more than the two extreme sides symbolized by these two colors.
The two individuals have different backgrounds – different cultures. Each individual has his or her own cultural background. Maybe they grew up in different parts of the world, they made different experiences as children, maybe experienced different school systems. They were raised with different values and world views.
“i” could also stand for identity. Everybody has an own and unique identity. This determines who we are, how we see ourselves, and how others see us.
The two “i” stand close together – they belong together – they complement each other They give stability to each other.
The black “i” is placed in front. It could have been just the other way around. But since the black color could also be a symbol for people with darker skin, we wanted that black “i” to be in front. Often in history and even today, the western perspective is the one consider more superior – just like during colonial times.
For us, all cultures and all individuals are equally valuable. There is not good and bad culture and there are no superior and inferior people on this earth.
The “i” could also give a hint for „eye“. Let‘s open our eyes and observe the richness of different cultures and different individuals.
We at interculti want to help you, to open your eyes and see each “i” as unique and precious being.
